Every module's fault codes
One scan walks every control unit the car carries: engine, gearbox, ABS, airbags, cluster, body, climate, doors. Each fault is named in plain language, with the unit that reported it.
Plug in a cheap ELM327 / OBD-II adapter and do what a dealer tool does: reset the service light, run service routines, drive actuator tests and code modules, across every system in the car, not just the engine. No dealer trip.
Generic OBD-II apps see one module. Motortune talks to each control unit in its own language, the way the workshop tester does, and tells you what it found in plain words. No subscription.

Reset the service and oil-change reminder yourself, with a guided sheet that confirms the cluster took it. Available on 96 models today.
DPF regeneration, throttle and steering-angle calibration, gearbox learns, brake bleeding, battery registration. Over 1,300 guided routines, every step spelled out, with the engine and ignition states each one needs.
Spin the radiator fan, blink a lamp, run a pump, sweep the gauges. Prove a part works before you buy a new one, then switch it off again with one tap. Over 6,500 output tests across the catalog.
Thousands of decoded parameters across engine, ABS, body computer and cluster: temperatures, pressures, sensor voltages, switch states. Chart them, or record a trip.
Motortune knows which units your model carries and which bus each sits on. It finds the ones that answer and reads back part number, software and hardware version, and VIN.
See how the body computer and gateways are set up: lighting, locking, comfort and market options, decoded into plain settings. Over 3,700 settings across 118 models, read-only so nothing changes by accident.
See what the car was doing the moment a fault was stored: speed, revs, voltages and the cluster's own snapshot. Chase intermittent faults without a workshop.
For people who want to write their own queries: read any identifier on any unit, or send raw frames and inspect the replies. Nothing hidden behind a wall.
Native screens on iOS and Android, one tap from the garage to the control unit. These are from Demo mode, on the same code your car will run.

176 models across 11 makes, and 2,787 control units, each mapped to the bus it sits on and the adapter that reaches it.
Look up your exact car →Works with any car that speaks SAE J1979, which is most petrol cars from 2001 and diesels from 2004 in Europe, and 1996 on in the US, whatever the make. Read and clear engine fault codes, watch live data, capture freeze frames.
Model-specific support, as deep as each make allows. Every control unit the model carries, identified by part number and software version, with full fault-code descriptions. The deepest makes add service reset, service functions, actuator tests and coding; others cover the reads and resets the car supports. Every model has its own page showing what it gets.
Your adapter decides how much of the car you see. Any ELM327 v1.5+ adapter over Bluetooth LE or Wi-Fi reaches the units on the standard OBD pins. On Jeep, RAM, Dodge and Chrysler that's engine, gearbox, ABS, airbags, cluster and body computer; the interior modules (doors, climate, radio, seats) sit on a slower MS-CAN bus that needs an OBDLink MX+ or vLinker MC+. On Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Abarth the standard pins carry the engine and gearbox, and the newer models keep ABS, airbags, cluster and body computer on a second CAN that the vLinker MS switches to by itself. Each car's page says which adapter reaches what.
What might not work. Coverage is mapped from a diagnostic catalog of these models and is still being confirmed on real cars. Older Fiat and Lancia models with units on K-line pins other than 7, and a few body buses that need a make-specific pin-switching cable, aren't reachable yet, and units older than the OBD socket never will be. Try Demo mode first, then run the in-app compatibility check on your real car before paying for Pro.
One‑time purchase. No subscription. Family Sharing included. Unlocks everything Motortune can do on your car. How deep that goes depends on the make; your car's page shows exactly what you get.

Motortune is one app for any make, as deep as each one allows. Tell us which marque you want us to add next.
Why one‑time? A tool like this gets used a few times a year, not every day. Charging a yearly fee for that pattern is the wrong shape: you shouldn't pay rent on a tool you already own.
Your garage, service log, fault-code history, trip recordings and raw adapter transcripts live on your device. Sign in to unlock an optional backup: on iPhone through your own iCloud, on Android through your own Google Drive, never our servers.
We never see your VIN, your live data or your trip recordings. Crash and diagnostic data is captured via Sentry to help fix bugs; full breakdown on the Privacy page.
Don't have an adapter yet? Pick "Demo" at connect time and the app swaps the Bluetooth / Wi-Fi transport for a simulated adapter wired to a demo car. Every screen lights up: fault codes across the modules, the service reset, guided routines, actuator tests, driven by the same code as the real hardware path.
Demo faults clear correctly and live values move, so you see exactly how a session on your own car will go.
Motortune has model-specific support for 176 models across Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Abarth, Lancia, Jeep, RAM, Dodge and Chrysler, plus the Fiat-built Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Jumper vans and the 806/807 and Evasion/C8 people carriers. Look up your exact car to see its control units, what reaches each one, and whether the service reset and service functions are available. Any other car that speaks generic OBD-II gets engine fault codes, live data and freeze frames.

On Jeep, RAM, Dodge and Chrysler that's engine, gearbox, ABS, airbags, cluster and body computer; the interior modules (doors, climate, radio, seats) need an adapter with an MS-CAN transceiver, such as the OBDLink MX+ or vLinker MC+. A generic app speaks SAE J1979, the emissions standard, so it sees the engine and little else. Motortune knows every control unit your model carries and talks to each one in its own protocol: that is how it reads ABS, airbag and body faults, resets the service light and runs calibrations and actuator tests.
No. Motortune is free to scan. Pro is a single one-time $18.99 purchase that unlocks the write features: clearing codes, the service reset, and on the makes that support them service functions, actuator tests and coding. How deep Motortune goes depends on your make, and your car's page shows exactly what it gets. Family Sharing is included.
Yes. Demo mode swaps the real adapter for a simulated one wired to a demo car, so every screen works offline with no hardware. After that, run the compatibility check on your real car before paying for Pro.
Yes, with Pro, on the models whose service reminder lives in a unit Motortune can reach: 96 of the 176 catalog models today. A guided sheet walks you through it and confirms the reset took. The car lookup shows it per model.
No. Motortune doesn't program keys or immobilisers, write VINs or odometer readings, or flash control-unit software.
Yes. Motortune runs on iPhone and Android. There is no subscription and no cloud account requirement.
